The Healthy Harbours Trip

-Day 1

Rangikura kids went down to Ascot park to meet a lady called Liz who helped us learn all about our harbours and streams. We went down to Kenepuru stream to learn about our stream works and what is inside it like something called invertebrates which are bugs, some of the bugs that mainly showed up were worms and much more. I found heaps of things really Interesting but there were 3 things that impacted on me and they  are……..

• When we were searching for bugs only one team in our whole group actually found a swimming mayfly.
• Did you know that a eel can travel all the way to Tonga to do some breeding in the warm water then leave in a couple of months.
• When we found the temperature of the water it was normally under 15c or over 20c.
